Praying and Calling on God to Lay the Foundation

God Lay the foundation

This is a unique post because it is unlike anything I’ve ever done before. I was heading to my devotion a few days ago and suddenly, I felt these words flowing out of me. Then urgency followed right thereafter, demanding I write them down. It turned out to be the cry of my heart concerning this blog. So, this post is me praying and calling out to God to lay the foundation for this blog. If you want, you can follow along in agreement.

The prayer, starting with acknowledging His majesty

Father of light and king of creation, even now I come in repentance. I acknowledge your greatness and it is above all things. To liken you to anything is to degrade you. You are Unlikable to nothing because all is the creation of your hands. Surely, the creator cannot be compared to the creation. To do this is blasphemy, a sin I repent from. God, as of now, I place you in your rightful place which is above all things, beyond any position and geographical altitude, over any grade and conceivable title; you are above all there is; highly exalted and exceeding lofty, you are set apart. You are distant above all measure and only comparable to yourself.

I tremble when I reflect on who you are; yet it is not you because who you are is what my mind cannot conceive. I pray Lord, that you would hold me together as I write this. And you will not forget what you can do when you come close to me. Let me not see your face–though I always long to–or it might ruin me. Even worse, destroy me. Hide me in a rock, God; and pass by so I can only see your back. Do this so I can have another day to reflect on your grace.

Now lay the foundation

Father I also pray: that your words will have sharpness with aim that cannot be averted, that your target will be precise and it will be the hearts of men. Lay the foundation, oh God. Expand your kingdom. Set your throne even in this demotion. Let them know who is King. I declare God that your kingdom comes and your will be done, not only on earth as it is in heaven, but in the cyber world as well. Father for there is no place, no realm, and no demotion where you are not King. If every knee bow and every tongue confess you are Lord, surely you are recognized as King in all places. Claim your rightful place and set your Glorious throne. Let this be the place where you start your move.

I subject myself under your authority. I subject myself in serving you. Make the vision clear; allow me to write it down so I can run with it. To you be the Glory, honor, and power, forever and ever. And it shall be.

How can the creation be compared to the Creator could never be. We could never fathom the depth of our Creator. He only allows glimpses of His Glory and we do fall on our face in Awe and Wonder.
