Personal integrity…for what?
What about personal integrity?
Do you have personal Integrity? I don’t think I do—or I should say I do, but with many flaws. I know this becuase the Lord was showing it to me the other day (more like like last year). Yes, it’s been a whole year but it seems that it needs more fixing now than ever before. It makes me wonder, prior to that did I not have personal integrity flaws? But that is not a sincere question because I know the real answer to that: I did.
I guess I’m play dumb because I’m not too fond with the knowledge. Even less impress with knowing I have to fix it; because now I’m accountable. I was reviewing this within myself thus came up with this post. Hopefully I can get some responds to help me fix it.
So what is integrity anyways?
I have two definitions from the dictionary…Integrity is:
1. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished: to preserve the integrity of the empire.
But that is not what I’m struggling with. I understand the definitive meaning. What I question is, is it still valueable now, or has it lost its meaning and relevance in the modern time? Because it seems that what men in the past would rather lose their heads for has become a thing of no worth in this era. Nowadays, children of men tread personal integrity daily for anything less than a buck. Which seems to me almost equivalent to Esau trading his birthrights, thought that can be argued.
So is the issue even of meaning, relevance or value? Or did they know something about integrity that we, men of today don’t? And if so, what is it? What makes integrity so valuable that they were willing to give up their lives to keep it, yet we are blined to recognize?
Share your thoughts and help me understand please. Perhaps seeing the value of personal integrity will help me fight for it.

I think you have Franzwa. Otherwise you wont have written yourself on blog. Without integrity, you can’t write well and no readers would read them too. Good work here.

Francis,
You are a great writer! I like the 2nd definition of integrity that you posted here. Integrity is what people values of what important in their life. I think integrity is manifested in your willingness to adhere to the values you hold most. Today’s society is so different from the past!
